Re: Do you know your heritage? Norman, Saxon, jute etc?
A lot of bollocks on here about the Normans. By the time of William the Viking invaders of Northern France were pretty well assimiated. The solders would have intermarried with French women especailly the Nobles. Hence they adopted the language. If you are of Norman decent you probaly 75% of it is French.

Live with it.

I've got a Roman nose... not too big, just about perfect actually... I expect I can trace a direct line to Julius Ceasar himself, via a few slave girl slags on the side.

That Blood of the Vikings was very interesting but didn't it sumarise that in fact the Vikings didn't intermix hardly at all. Which doesn't surprise me if you compare scandinavian women to British :-)

It also found it diffcult though to distinguish between Saxon genes (northern German/Elbe region) and Danish as they are next to each other geograhically and of course related.

The most interesting thing from that program was that the racial mix of Saxon/Celtic in southern England was the same as southern Scotland.

Furthest back I know is that I'm related to the Campbell's.

My only saving grace is that I consider it a lot better having Jock blood than Welsh or Irish and at least my ancestors were traitors who fought for England.

And, of course, there's the cuckold effect - when they do enough genetic analysis (for medical reasons), it turns out that around 10% of people have fathers other than the one on their birth certificate.
